Hi, I'm Jane Ryder
Tax educator, speaker, and writer helping professionals navigate the ever-changing tax landscape.
I've been preparing tax returns since 1980. That's over four decades of watching tax law evolve, sometimes sensibly, often not. Along the way, I've prepared tens of thousands of returns and helped countless tax professionals understand not just what the rules are, but why they matter.
Based in San Diego, I now focus primarily on education—teaching at conferences, chapter meetings, and through online courses. My specialty is business entity taxation: S-Corporations, Partnerships, and LLCs. These are the areas where I see practitioners struggle most, and where good education makes the biggest difference.
What I Believe
Practical over theoretical
Tax education should prepare you for Monday morning. I focus on real scenarios, actual forms, and the problems you'll actually encounter—not abstract concepts you'll never use.
Stay current, stay skeptical
Tax law changes constantly. I track legislation, IRS guidance, and court decisions so you don't have to—but I also help you understand which changes actually affect your practice.
Share what works
After 45 years, I've learned what trips people up. I share those insights openly—the common mistakes, the overlooked opportunities, the things they don't teach in textbooks.
